Integrated Photonics Systems Roadmap International (IPSR-I)
The primary initiative of the Microphotonics Center Industry Consortium, the IPSR-I brings together academic and industry specialists to forecast the projected future of photonic hardware in data communications. Results are achieved by examining, anticipating, and prioritizing potential market demands, technological barriers, and assigning timeframes to key engineering milestones.

IPSR-I 2026 Spring Meeting: Building a Common Platform for Electronic-Photonic Integration
IPSR-INTERNATIONAL 2026 SPRING MEETING
May 13-14, 2026
MIT, Cambridge, MA
The IPSR-International, the Integrated Photonics System Roadmap promotes synchronous, self-consistent solutions for the electronic-photonic manufacturing value chain. Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) represents the first driver for E-P integration with High Volume Manufacturing compatibility. The charter for this meeting is assessment of roadblocks and potential solutions for a scalable, HVM package platform development plan. The primary deliverable for attendees is an early stage consensus for i) architectural elements that can be fixed and ii) new materials, tools, devices and system integration concepts that will satisfy the 20-year IPSR-I projections for communication, computation, sensing and integrative AI applications. The meeting will establish the foundation for an E-P Integration Working Group to guide R&D and standards agreements.
The 2026 Spring Meeting of the MIT Microphotonics Center will feature contributions from 26 leading organizations across the IT value chain.
Advanced Photonics Coalition (APC), Ajinomoto, AMD, ASE, Cisco, FuzeHub, IEEE Heterogeneous Integration Roadmap (HIR), Hyperlight, IEEE International Roadmap for Devices and Systems (IRDS), IMEC, iNEMI, Intel, Lightmatter, Lightwave Logic, MacDermid Alpha, Meta, MIT Microphotonics Center, Molex, Nvidia, Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF), Promex, Resonac, SiPhox, Tyndall National Institute, Xscape

IPSR-I 2025 Spring Meeting
The IPSR-I promotes synchronous, self-consistent solutions for the electronic-photonic manufacturing value chain. The urgency to align microchip system performance scaling with a commercially viable manufacturing value chain dominates business and technology decisions today. Hosted by the MIT Microphotonics Center and PhotonDelta. The next IPSR-I will take place in June 2026.
